06 / Earlier Product Work

Craft built through
hands-on product work.

Before Tilt, I mapped flows, explored interactions, and designed web and mobile experiences at SportsEngine and Bluestem. This is the individual-contributor foundation my design leadership is built on.

The challenge

Keep the conversation with the team.

Families were turning to text messages and other apps because team communication no longer met their expectations for real-time conversation. The design challenge was to make chat feel familiar while keeping it connected to the team.

My contribution

I explored the messaging structure and designed the mobile chat experience, from entry points and conversation lists to messages, photos, and reactions.

The approach

A path from team chat to a messaging hub.

The wireframes map four phases: introduce chat within a team, add a global Chats destination, support one-to-one and group conversations, and bring announcements into a shared messaging hub. Separating those phases made the interaction model and its evolution explicit.

Phased wireframes show how team chat could evolve into a broader messaging hub.
